Savagnin from the Magpie Block, Southern Fleurieu. The site features an E-NE slope of sandy loam with ironstone, quartz over limestone and clay. The vineyard is dry-grown and Matt has been managing it organically since taking over.
This release features two unique flor strains, selected by Matt over his time working with the style. The wine has been “under veil” for 18 months, and in that time has not been topped or manipulated.
The nose exhibits almond kernel, fresh fennel frond and crushed cumin seed. The palate races with lengths of mouth-watering acidity, fresh lemon pith, sunflower miso and roasted macadamias
