2024 'Strange Fog' Nebbiolo
2024 ‘Strange Fog’ Nebbiolo
Malakoff Vineyard, Pyrenees, Victoria
Nebbiolo from the Malakoff Vineyard in the Pyrenees, 320m above sea level. The 2024 growing season was the first warm and more classic growing season after a trio of cooler La Niña seasons in the years that preceded; fruit was harvested in late March.
100% destemmed and handled gently, only pump-overs, using old world practices to produce a Nebbiolo that prizes freshness and aromatic purity, as well as the layered accumulation of fine, ripe tannins. On skins for 22 days before pressing and racking to old, large format puncheons where it rested on fine lees for 11 months before blending and bottling.
